Event Entry Experience

Background
Event organizers found the event entry and tech check process overly complex, with concerns that the lengthy flow could hinder conversion. The experience also lacked visual and brand consistency with the event app, resulting in a disjointed user journey.
Project Highlights
Streamlining Event Entry and Elevating the Tech Check
My primary goal was to streamline the event entry experience, elevate the tech check, and make it intuitive. I added the customizable header that allowed organizers to incorporate their logo, brand colors, and a tailored welcome message. This customization empowered customers to create a professional and branded first touchpoint for attendees while balancing branding and usability.
Balancing Branding and Accessibility
During the design process, I was challenged with integrating the branding options while keeping the focus on the tech check. Previously, the event entry experience involved a landing page that added an extra step to the process, hindering a streamlined experience. By advocating for a narrow max-height header that preserved branding, I could keep the tech check easily accessible while maintaining the customization that customers love.
Cross-Functional Collaboration for Implementation
Throughout the project, I worked closely with the engineering and product teams to navigate technical constraints, including integration with existing authentication systems. By facilitating cross-team communication and driving decisions around technical feasibility, I ensured that the design remained aligned with both user needs and technical capabilities.
Impact:
The revamped Event Entry experience has significantly improved attendee satisfaction, receiving positive feedback from both users and internal stakeholders. Early feedback specifically praised the final solution as ‘modern,’ ‘smoother,’ and ‘cohesive.’ Attendees appreciated the streamlined entry process, while event organizers reported a reduction in support requests related to entry issues. By prioritizing a simplified flow and maintaining branding consistency, the new design directly contributed to a more professional and intuitive event experience.
